The culture of showing off
It is a common sight in railway stations. people carrying suit cases with baggage check in tags attached to thei suit cases in tact .THEY MIGHT HAVE Travelled by air long back , but they are reluctant to part with their prizes possesion of the tag of air travel. You can also see many brand new cars(?) running without registration number inscribed on number plates, but the word "for registration " in tact eversince it rolllrolled out from show room(or ever since the gift of poor father in law). The proud owner of the car will keep the factory fitted polythene cover on its seat just to show that the car is new ....new. you can also see posters and congratulatory ads inserted by well wisher of the foreign retured indian haialing him as (Ameriricavililirundu vertriyudan thirumbu.......0. thanks to soft ware boom, the posters and ads are reduced now , not altogethe diappeared.

BOTH OFTHEM WERE REPRIMANDED BY THEI PARENTS FOR WATCHING CRICKET ON TV INSTEAD OF STUDYING. THIS SIMPLE PARENTEL ADMONITION DROVE THEN TO COMMIT SUICIDE.
THE AURA AROUND CRICKET IS CREATED BY COMMERCIAL AND VESTED INTERESTS OF NATIONAL AND MNC CORPORATIONS TO CREATE A MEDIA BASE TO MARKET THEIR PRODUCTS .INDIA IS COUNTRY WITH VAST MARKET AMONG 121 BILLION PEOPLE.
THE POLITICIANS, CINE STARS,JNDUSTRIALISTS HAVE A STAKE IN PROMOTING CRICKET. INDUSTRIALISTS ADVERTISE THEIR PRODUCTS. CINE STARS PROMOTE PRODUCTS AND MAKE FAST AND HEFTY BUCK.THE MIDDLE CLASS SIMPLY APE THEM.

BREAKING COCONUTS ON DEVOTEE"S HEAD
As the years roll by, the the festival of breaking coconuts on the heads of devotees near karur Mettu mahathanapuram gains momentu, in terms of press coverage and the participation of the crowd. The superstitious people are thronging thr trmple in search of magical solution for their problems by giving their head for breaking coconunts. It is pitiable that the devotees strongly believe that the Almighty will save them from all sufferings. The press relishes in sensationalising the issue. The constitution that exhorts ite citizens to adopt scientific temper could do nothing to prevent this superstiton. whereas the scientists of our country invariably visit Lord venkateswara before every satellite launch and PWD enginees pour woter into the dam to invoke the lord to fill the dam by heavy rains. These are the few reported incidents of wanton and vulgar display of superstition by educated , scientists, officials of the state alike.

The press and media who defiled the sanctum sanctorum of a temple
This is with regard to a priest who had his illicit sexual escapades inside Macheswara perumal temple sanctum sanctorum in Kanchipuram , Tamilnadu. The priest with an infantile face with a tuft in his head seemed a typical gurukkal. The precocious priest had enticed many women and had sexual acts in temple. He had the audacity to vidiograph his actions with his mobile. The priest had been doing his mischief during day time and while doing it he came out intermittently to perform pooja for the innocent devotees . He was caught when he handed overthe mobile for repair, There came a spate of CDs that catered to the voyoeristic public of Tamilnadu.
As usual, the media of Tamilnadu, both print and visual, came out with cover stories and prime time highlights making a sensation . Of couerse , they might have made money and made the innocent devoties to see all the priests with suspicion.The police , as usual, jumped into the fray , at the height of the sensation and started giving interviews informing that they suspect many women were involved with the priest and they would enquire all. Of course, it is a ruse for extortion. Subsequently, a women attempted suicide on being framed as a suspect.
The press and visual media had covered the incident with sensation. They made banner stories and followed it everyday till the priest had surrendered nad sent to custody,
